Timberwolves, Text, & Notes

Good morning,

We were at the Timberwolves game last night and Lindsay commented that our friend Chris Wright, president of the Wolves and Lynx, came to Wells Fargo bank months ago, where she worked, and gave a great talk about teamwork.  He inspired all in the room, especially her boss, who has applied a message Chris called, “we before me.” I thought about that! One person inspiring a team, inspiring a company, inspiring one person, who inspires his circle, to be mindful and apply the phrase, ‘we before me’! Each person makes such a difference. Lindsay is still spreading the talk he gave and now I am spreading…

My friend Kim Kruse sent me a text the other day that said, “Just saying hi! Happy Friday! You and Steve crossed my mind and brought a smile to my face. Thought I would say thanks.” She filled my heart with such love that she would just stop and send me that sweet thought. She made me want to remember to do what she did when I think of someone! I know it must have blessed her as much as me because that is how giving works. The giver is moved.

My friend in Texas, Jayne Kendall, years ago sent me a note after we had been on a business trip that started out, “Just wanted to write a note to you to share a few most special thoughts about you.” I still have that note in my office and think of her so often. I don’t know what I did that inspired her to write me but it still fills my heart that she wanted to tell me that she could see Christ in my life and it blessed her. It makes me want to encourage someone like that, because it feels so good to receive and it also feels so good to give that kind of personal gift.

Jesus did the ultimate “we before me” when he traded places with sinners so they could be right with His Father. I am sure it was horrible to suffer and take all the sin on himself, but oh, the outcome of all the world, whosoever, believes in Him shall have everlasting life!!!  Jesus sends us messages every day: I love you right where you are. I care about you. Let’s do this together. Go tell others the good news about me! I love your children. Build my church so we can meet and declare heaven on earth. Pray and talk to me. Pray for each other. Encourage one another.

It is a good message: It is a great feeling to be a part of encouraging others. All of us have opportunity to put “we before me”–all of us have friends we can reach out to. Jesus knows that we all need each other and positive actions can grow!! I want to grow!!

Love you, Teri
