Good morning,
Do you ever have computer problems? My hard drive failed and I have been without my computer in my office where I usually write from. It feels kind of awkward writing in a different room with a strange computer. All my information is here but it just seems odd. It makes me realize the dependency we have with computers, how helpless most of us are to fix our computer problems, and how frustrating it is to know all your information is in there but we have no power to reach it easily. So many analogies are circling my brain right now.
First off, I heard a minister use this analogy about God and the electric company. The electric company supplies power to your house but they will not come out and flip your switches on and off in your house. If you call and say, “I can’t get power to my lights. Will you come and flip my switches?” they would say, “No, we supply the power to your house… You command the power in your own house.”
That is how God works. We have more than enough power in our body from the Holy Spirit. Your switches are the authority we have as believers. What you speak is a switch. God already gave us healing, our part is to speak to the sickness and tell it to be healed. Our words are so powerful that they are creating every time we talk. Guard your words and notice if you are speaking positive or negative. You will have what you are speaking!!!!!!! God already gave us forgiveness; our part is to receive it and give it to others. God already gave us whatever he has promised us in the Bible. Our part is to know what we have and apply it to life with our thoughts, words, and deeds. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. Psalm 103:2
Just like my computer giving me problems, I have to call the right people to fix it. I have to do something awkward and rise to the occasion. I have to not get frustrated but find a solution and maybe learn something new!! I can write in a different room!! It is not the room, it is me!! I take God wherever I go, in whatever I say, and whatever I believe. He is the power. I am the operator of the switch.
The more I learn about what I have as a believer, the more thankful I become. The more I do not let circumstance or people take my joy. God is for me, God has given me everything I will ever need–given being the word I have to understand and believe. Hope, Faith, and Love mean everything! I just have to understand my authority and move in it!!
Love you, Teri
