Hurricane Harvey and Irma

Good morning,

Wow, it has been quite a few weeks watching all the news about Hurricane Harvey and Irma! You really start to understand why they give these storms names! They have personalities, stories, a life, and a death. These two in particular we got to know because of the life-changing, anticipated, what-can-you-do-to-save-lives plan you follow! The better people listened and did what officials and meteorologists were saying, the safer they were. You really understood first-hand that no one can stop a hurricane! Something bigger than a whole state is coming in the sky and man cannot stop it, know what it will destroy, or where it will go with 100% accuracy, but man does have a choice!

Man has free will. Leave things that can be replaced, and do our best to save lives that cannot be replaced!

There will be aftermath. Darkness, no electricity, hot climate, no water, flooding… Can you imagine if no one came to help or restore power, clean things up, build new homes, or restore broken ones? How about if there was no one to give out comfort, hugs, bare necessities, money. I think that would feel like hell!

Sound familiar??

God has sent prophets.
God has sent a Bible.
God has sent his Son.
God has sent miracles.
God has sent ministers, disciples, parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors…

A time is coming when your life will be over. A time when all your things will not go with you. Where your soul goes is up to you. Jesus is a safe shelter, but my goodness He is so much more. He is not a cot set up for a safe but temporary shelter from one storm. He is in you, around you, and beside you. He wants you blessed, protected, supplied, and happy!!! Forever, from the day you believe he is the Son of God, sent to be your personal bridge to God.

The TV, social media, professionals, city leaders, government, etc., could not make you go to safety. They repeated over and over again the danger but in the end, everyone has a choice. We are in charge of our own choices. Thank goodness, we are! Freedom makes our choices real.

God wants real believers… He gave us free will!! He is coming back! He has given notice that there will be signs. He has said over and over that there is only one way to Him. Without Him will be terrifying and horrible for eternity! Will he find you on Christ’s bridge? I hope so!! Christ gives you hope, love, forgiveness, and a heart to want everyone saved! God promises an eternity always in His presence. He will not make you choose this safety! You have free will to depend on yourself or believe in, adhere to, trust in, and rely on, His Son!

I pray, Father, that all the victims of these two storms find new faith in You and in people, a will to survive, a gift in receiving help from strangers and friends in scary times and that the love of Christ is bigger than any problem and more comforting than anything on earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
