Good morning,
Last night we had our parents over for dinner and conversation led to our upcoming trip. Steve’s mom asked if I was excited to go on it. I told her I was, but travel is not something I have a burning desire for. I do a lot of it, because part of Steve’s business has these amazing trips and I always have a wonderful time and love that Steve provides us with this opportunity, but the reason I have a wonderful time is the people we travel with–not so much the place. I love having time with my husband and these people we know from all over the United States and have been traveling with them for almost 25 years. I like making memories that include them.
It is how I feel about our homes, too. I love a wonderful decorated space, but I love most, the friends I can entertain and the kids we have that enjoy them with us.
I don’t need my house tidy, I need my house full!
I could live in any size or shape house and be happy. Same with work: I enjoy design in any form, especially interior design, but mostly I like the relationship with my clients and the journey for me is 80% fun and 20% hard work. I love figuring out the space and collaborating with everyone involved.
The more I read the Bible and get to know Christ on a personal level, I find out that my heart is in the right place. He wants us to have lives that are centered around what we can take with us into eternity. None of us will be taking anything except the people we love who know Christ. So, I feel like we should always do work to the best of our abilities, because a job well done is satisfying and filled with contentment–still, our most important work is living our lives being witnesses to Christ. Christ is what keeps us filled and wanting connections to spread His kind of love, His kind of relationships, His kind of parenting, His kind of generosity, His kind of peace. With Christ we can always be willing to share our lives, have nothing to fear and be grateful in any circumstance.
Be an example as a believer in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)
Take courage, I AM! Stop being afraid. (Matthew 14:27)
Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name… let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. (Psalm 105:1,3)
Love you, Teri
