The Power of 100

Good morning,

Last night I went to a meeting for an organization five ladies started in our area. I have been giving to Power of 100 Charities for a year, but was never able to attend a meeting before. They have other chapters, but this one is Power of 100 Lake Minnetonka. I loved the idea of the gals who join: Write down on a piece of paper a charity they are close to, put it in a fish bowl, and they pick three papers out. The three people picked from the fish bowl have five minutes to talk about why they are passionate about their cause and then the group votes. The winner gets $100 from each person in the room that night for their charity. If you can’t make the meeting, you can still give your $100.

Now, all that said I understood, but, going to the meeting was so much more for my heart!! You see that five women asked their friends if they wanted to do this, and 115 gals said they did! You see with your eyes how crowded the room is and that is over $10,000. You feel the relationship of the other people and hear about what matters from the heart.

The difference of sending a check to something that sounds good, but you really don’t have a personal connection to and personally having connection, are equal to hearing about Jesus and really meeting Jesus!

Second-hand relationship is not like getting to know Him for yourself. Reading the Bible is how we personally get to know God, His Son and the precious Holy Spirit. I read just this weekend the book in the Bible, 1 Peter. The opening first couple verses tell me I am chosen by God, made holy by His Son, given peace increasing in abundance, freedom from fears, agitating passions and moral conflicts, I can praise God for his boundless mercy! I have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Into an inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay reserved in heaven for me. And I will be guarded by God’s power through faith till I fully inherit that final salvation that is ready to be revealed for me!!!

If you read these things for yourself, you realize that nowhere does it say if you are really good… you can earn Christ’s love. It says: God loved you first! It says: I forgive you. It says: Your work is to believe in, adhere to, trust in, and rely on JESUS, because He doesn’t want you afraid, living in fear, agitated, upset, worried, angry, hateful, or any of the awful things that make you, in your heart, upset! It then tells you how, with the powerful help of the Holy Spirit who lives inside of you. It tells you to spread the good news of heart peace through Christ.

Just like the Power of 100, started with five women telling some people and then, what if the 115 gals that are now members get five people each to join!! You get how it starts to explode and make a powerful impact!! Jesus started with 12 disciples… people, telling people, showing people, and loving people which spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ TO THE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF BELIEVERS! The personal connection to Christ comes from experiencing, reading, hearing, watching first-hand how wonderful He is.
