Good morning,
Today is gorgeous in Minnesota! Blue skies and warm temperatures. Tomorrow, all is supposed to change with 12–24 inches of snow predicted in some areas. Isn’t that life? One day all is great and then everything can seem to change in 24 hours. Now, it doesn’t have to be bad things that change us. I love how that much snow looks all around the town. It is beautiful in my eyes. Yes, it is work and more time to get places, but we all know it won’t stay long and so why not find the positive in the situation? Imagine the fun!!
I have been reading a book by Andrew Wommack called Don’t Limit God. Really good insight into things that we do because of:
wrong beliefs…
cares of the world…
fear of man…
fear of risk…
fear of success…
imagination…
Isn’t it crazy that one of the ways we limit God is our imagination? We simply need to imagine ourselves in situations more. This chapter rang so true for me because my job as a designer of interior and exterior spaces requires me to see a room completely done or remodeled while it either does not exist yet or while what I am standing in is not at all what I am imagining finished in my mind. I realized all of us, no matter what we do, use our imagination all the time. When we read the word “apple” we see a picture of an apple–green, red, or whatever–unless the writer has told us it is red. We don’t think of the letters “a-p-p-l-e,” we think real apple.
The point is, God, tells us over and over again: Ask Me for whatever you need, big or small. Believe, have faith that I have answered you right then and do your part by speaking out ‘thank you for hearing my prayer’. Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) Then imagine yourself with answered prayer.
If you need to lose weight, let’s say, imagine yourself a healthy size, running, dancing, biking, whatever you would like to do and enjoying the lighter you breathing easier and fitting into clothes better, looking better in the mirror, as a wonderful thing that happens when you are healthy. Just like me imagining a home remodeled, it takes a plan, tearing out the old. Steps like plumbing first, then electric, then sheet rock, etc., ups and downs, tweaking as we go, but, in the end what I imagined ends up real and tangible after all the work is done. I don’t do all the work. I depend on others and we work together but the process is rewarding. Being healthy is a process, too! Depend on God to help you.
Imagine big, aim for the stars! Being around people who talk about vision causes you to dream big also. Most people think too small. They aim at nothing and hit it every time.
Steve just came home from a Lexus meeting in Florida and he said one of the founding guys at Lexus was speaking. He was surprised to find out that person also has a Christian blog where he writes: “God, Guts, and Aspirin: The Start of Lexus.” The blog is about how he prayed to God about everything: traffic, business meetings, whatever was going on in his life from the beginning of Lexus, 25 years ago. His boss at the time took huge risks and had such big vision he could hardly believe what he was hearing. The blog is “God of Hope,” by Dave Illingworth. Awesome for anyone–and, of course, business people–to see how he used his faith and actions.
Don’t limit God! He is really, really big and wants us stretched, challenged, loved, delighted, healthy, and happy.
Love you, Teri
