You’ve Already Got It

Good morning,

I am reading a book called, You’ve Already Got It. Once you are Christ filled, you have asked Christ into your life, you have all the provision, love, fruits of the spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control already in you. Pastor Joel at church Sunday did a great sermon on:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. He explained that we don’t always feel like we have joy always, or how do you pray continually in every circumstance? Some circumstances are horrible.  The end of the scripture is clear that God’s will is for you to have joy, continuous conversation when you want it with God and every circumstance God is there with you.

The devil wants to deceive you into thinking you are lacking! He wants you to think you do not have it all. Most believers do not realize the devil has been defeated. He is stripped of all power towards a believer. All he can do is deceive you into believing you are lacking. The world helps him do this. Any given way you turn you see or hear about things you don’t have or things you need or horrible people scaring the daylights out of us.

If you can picture the devil trying to deceive Adam and Eve, how would he do it? They’d never sinned, never had any kind of problems, and lived in paradise with plenty of food. Basically, they were perfect people, living perfect lives, in a perfect place. He couldn’t even tempt them with money–there wasn’t such a thing. He couldn’t tempt them with adultery–there wasn’t anyone else to commit adultery with. He couldn’t tempt them with hurt, pain, and bitterness over past experiences–there was nothing in them that depression or discouragement could latch on to. Perfect people in a perfect place couldn’t be tempted by money, sex, power, glory, etc. What could they be tempted with?

Satan lied to them by saying, “You don’t have it all. As good as this is, there’s more!” The truth is, they did have it all. He enticed them to speculate about what might be, what could be. Through that, he caused perfect people, living perfect lives to fall. Adam and Eve threw it all away because a talking snake convinced them that they didn’t have enough!

The truth is, in the spirit, you already have everything–the key to seeing what you have in the spirit manifest in your life is believing and acknowledging it. Learning the Word of God and doing what His will is for you. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances. You have enough. A new spouse, more money, less hassles, better whatever is not the key to happiness!! Being thankful that Christ is willing and powerful and already is in you and filled with anything you will ever need, changes you. Right now if you have concerns and it is health or loss or any number of things, God’s will is for you to be well and fit, and He says you have it so claim those things and thank Him that you have it.

Love you, Teri
