Good morning,
Do you ever meet some people and you right away feel like old friends? We just came home from a three-day getaway with that very experience. Eight strangers walking away as family. One of the guys, Dave, was talking about his granddaughter and he told us that she calls him, “Grandpa Yes.” He rolled his head back and laughed about how funny and cute he thinks that is. He admitted he can’t help it, he just loves to say yes to her.
He clearly loves to spend lots of time with her and the rest of his family. He wasn’t talking about buying her everything she wants. He meant his overall disposition around her is positive: Yes honey, be around me! Dave is one of those people who loves life, people, God, giving, laughing, and learning. I told him I was going to use “Grandpa Yes” in my message that I write because kids understand love, happiness, truth. We understand all of that, too.
Steve has a saying at Lexus: The answer is yes, what’s the question? When you say that to a person it immediately makes them feel positive. Not spoiled or undisciplined, but that you are listening and agreeing to open the door for them to ask what they want.
Jesus tells us, and these phrases are right out of the Bible multiple times in multiple places:
Pray about everything.
Know the will of God, ask whatever you want and it shall be given to you.
Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved–you and your household.
He did not say “no” to one person who asked to be healed!! Because of Him, by His stripes we were healed. Past tense. Claim that and tell that to whatever needs healing on your body!
He says to love one another.
You are forgiven.
You are mine and no one can take you out of my hand.
He says our joy, prosperity, will be pressed down, shaken to gather and overflowing.
Do not fret or have anxiety about anything. Bring your wants and needs with requests, prayer, and thanksgiving to him and believe you have them answered.
A merry heart does good like medicine.
He says: Speak to your problem, not to speak over and over about your problem.
So many, many more I can’t even list them all.
If we will flow in the love and promises that Jesus has given us, the answer is yes! He says problems will happen to everyone, but you can stay full of peace, patience, kindness in the trial. I imagine Jesus like Grandpa Yes, hearing our prayers, throwing back his head with laughter, love, and joy, saying, “YES, child you are mine and the answer is yes! Do your part and stay close to me. Do the actions that I have told you to do and I will never leave you. I loved you first! My joy is YOU!!!”
Love you, Teri
