Good morning,
Do you ever get surprised by a trip or function, being blessed beyond anything you thought would be incorporated into the place and time? This just happened to me on a trip with Lexus to a beautiful Montage resort in South Carolina. I really had not looked at much about the trip and was so excited that three couples we always have so much fun with were going to be there. I had no idea the resort was going to be so spectacular, visually, and have little plantation cabins as our hotel rooms. Each cabin came with two bicycles and huge screened porches that looked out at the river. Moss was hanging from the enormous trees and huge hydrangea bushes with blue flowers were everywhere. I then had the pleasure of sitting for dinner each night with a couple I had no idea was going to be on the trip. She is the real blessing of the trip!
My beautiful friend the first night looked so troubled and she talked to me with a sort of hopeless tone. Nothing I could put my finger on, but I could feel she was in critical need.
The second night we were seated next to each other again and we talked a little bit about her twin brother who had recently found Christ and he was so on fire with it. She wasn’t sure why. I had never asked anyone at a dinner before if they had ever asked Christ into their heart, but I just asked her. She said, no, she had not. I told her that when a person asks Christ into their heart to forgive them their sins and ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior it gives them hope and power and so many, many gifts that you want to keep finding out what He is all about. Later after dinner, she asked if I brought my Bible with me and if I would do a Bible study with her in the morning.
Of course, I was delighted to do that and we sat on my beautiful screen porch and she told me she wanted to ask Christ into her heart and asked if I would pray with her. I tell you, my whole body was filled with goosebumps and electricity. That is the Holy Spirit in me just so excited for one of His children accepting Him and heaven rejoicing with her choice of eternal life.
I gave her my Bible as a gift. It is a teaching Bible and has years of notes that I write in it most every day. She had tears in her eyes and said, “I kept praying for tools. I didn’t know how to have a relationship with Jesus and now I do.”
I tell you nothing is more blessing to your soul than seeing someone receive Faith, Hope and Love! (1 Corinthians 13:13) She had a tangible new lift about her and Steve told me he could see the difference in her that afternoon.
What a Savior we have! What a trip! I had no idea!
Love you, Teri
