So Hot!

Good morning,

We spent the weekend in Chicago and it was a furnace!! So hot and humid you could hardly believe it! We went to see a concert and my sunglasses were the only thing I had to hold my hair off my neck… they worked great! Who knew! We also went to a ballgame at Wrigley Field. The thing is, we had a fantastic time. Why? The people! We could have stayed home and inside, but why let a circumstance that you can do nothing about stop joy?? It really is what we speak out of our mouth that dictates the day!

I picked up a new book at the airport by Bill Johnson, God is Good: He’s Better Than You Think. I highly recommend it!!! Chapter One starts with this quote:

“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”

When I fill my mind with the word of God I get to know Him.

Because I know Him: I let Him worry about my safety, health, finances, children, work, etc…. because God is good!

Because I know Him: I speak peace, love, hope, joy, over favorable or unfavorable circumstances… because God is good!

Because I know Him and that He is good: I know I can give GRACE, which the definition of is: unmerited favor… to any person or situation.

Because I know Him: I spend my day with Him, thanking Him for this and that and knowing that He walks before me in love and I follow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control… because God is good!

Stop complaining about what is wrong. Start speaking what is awesome, like: buying little fans that are powered by your phone and they keep you a bit cooler and you can pass them out to people around you at a ballgame that is so hot and you can laugh and make friends and a memory!! I change my surrounding by my attitude. My attitude is changed when I hang around God!
