I Came Into this World with Nothing…

Good morning,

Steve and I were walking into church last week and we saw a very prominent older man in front of us who Steve recognized and stopped to say hello to. Steve introduced me and told that they had bought some land from him years ago. The gentlemen replied, “I came into this world with nothing and will leave this world with nothing, but while I am here, I am a caretaker.” He told how he was helping with the new church plant and other financial consults. I have thought about the gentlemen and that encounter a lot since then. He carried a Bible that was so worn and taped together from repeated use. He was dressed lovely and had a warmth to him that was engaging and kind. He truly understood how things work. God is in charge and we work for Him. He trusts us with gifts and talents and tells us through the Bible what to do. When we do that: we have peace, joy, thankfulness, love, etc…

Our friend Jim, who I wrote about at the Formula 1 race in Montreal, sent out an email on Saturday evening to 12 of us, that racecar driver, Lewis Hamilton, #44, had engine trouble in qualifying and he was starting the race in 14th place on Sunday, and would all the prayer warriors send up love for LH44 on Sunday.

I wrote back: On it! God is good and we who believe are blessed going in and going out. Blessed in the city and blessed in the country. We are blessed in our job and in our family and all that we possess. Claiming those blessings over LH44 and his teammate, VB77, tomorrow for victory in the race. Amen! Love you, Teri. Deuteronomy 28

Well, LH44 won the race and VB77 came in second!!

“God is good!!!” was repeated over and over on the emails. Jim thought to pray as first resort… not last resort! He knows there is power in numbers. When we start the day with “God is good,” and then speak blessings over our day, spouse, kids, friends, work, weather, finances, health, country, etc., we are speaking our truth and using our words in agreement with what God says about us. Start anything with “God is good,” and see how great acknowledging that is in your life.

God is good! He is in charge of everything! We are His children and when we are humble and remember to pray first, know that we are just here as caretakers and helpers… our life is blessed.

Love you, Teri
