Good morning,
Can you believe it is already December? Such a wonderful month, yet so filled with emotions. Family is brought to the front of our lives and it can be loss of loved ones, anticipation of gathering, maybe not wanting to see certain family members, travel, decorating, shopping… For us, it is always the Christmas card picture! Fun for me, not so much for the rest of them!!
Whatever your December brings out, know that it is our celebration as Christ followers. It is not about anyone else except Christ. It is His birthday! Do not let anyone hijack Christmas! Especially advertisers on TV who want to be so politically correct and get everyone’s dollars that they only say Happy Holidays, Santa, or Frosty…. I won’t let anyone hijack Christmas from me! Say, “Merry Christmas” because it is exciting to share Christmas. Joy is the gift Jesus gave us because He made the way for us to come into God’s presence anytime we want to.
Say, “Merry Christmas” because we can pray about anything!! I taught in Bible Study last week about prayer. I told them to think about when you call someone and they answer and you know them. You can picture in your mind what their personality is like. You know them and can relate to them. That is how God is when you pray to Him. He has told us in the Bible what His personality is. He is for us. He is in love with every person on Earth. He has forgiven any sin through the blood of Jesus on the cross. He hates sin because of what it does to us; He loves the sinner no matter the sin. He knows we need Him. He sent the Holy Spirit to comfort us, teach us, and so much more. He is forgiving. He wants to answer our prayers if we will invite Him to!
Prayer changes everything. Pray and talk to God about anything. Pray like this: Sit down, hold up your problem, and ask Him to fix it. Give thanks to Him that He is God. Believe He heard you and expect answers in abundance. So simple.
This is how Jesus prayed when he only had five loaves of bread to feed 5,000 people in John 6:10-12. Jesus told the disciples to have the people:
…sit down.(pray)
Jesus took the loaves (the problem)
and when He had given thanks. (always be thankful )
The disciples passed out as much as the people wanted. After they collected 12 baskets of leftovers. (abundant answer)
Merry Christmas… Love you, Teri
So nice Teri, thank you!
