Good morning,
This week starts a new chapter. Steve and his partner of 38 years sold their business on Monday! Have you ever had a new Tuesday? I think we all in one way or another have closed a chapter, whether willingly or not our choice, woken up and all was different. God is about looking ahead. Situations are always going to change us. Our choice is our attitude, sometimes that is the only choice! Our heart is one of God’s greatest concerns for us.
Did you know that the Bible talks about our heart more than 800 times? God teaches us to open the eyes of our heart. He teaches us to guard our heart. He teaches us that to be healthy and well we need a happy heart; it is good for our bones. He tells us to have a positive heart by forgiving. He tells us to give from a willing heart and we will receive. He says to grieve the loss of a loved one for a season and then let your heart not be troubled. He teaches us to cherish our good memories in our heart. Be thankful for the privilege of people, experiences, and growth in our lives. He teaches us to believe in, adhere to, trust in, and rely on Jesus and we will have strength in our heart for the hard stuff and the good stuff.
We ran into our friend Jerry Holl last night who wrote a book titled, Down Hills Don’t Come Free. The picture is how hard it is to climb the hill, your legs are screaming, you have to talk to yourself, keep going and then you did it and you can enjoy, fly, coast, laugh, cry–whatever your heart wants…until the next hill!
I love that with God we can look forward to new things! I am excited for Steve and whatever he chooses to do next. He was not made for just one talent, one experience. He has a generous heart and God can work with that big time. If he chooses to mentor, create, relax, whatever, I know he will seek God’s wisdom and it will be from his heart and for his heart.
Love you, Teri
Teri, I love to read your spiritual messages. They are shot but say so much! Good luck to Steve, I know, with you at his side, you will both be happy.
