My Dad, Showers of Blessings!

Good morning,

I stopped over at my parents’ house one rainy morning and as I stepped inside the house I heard my 88-year-old dad upstairs singing the hymn, “Showers of Blessings!” He is truly the most positive person I know!! When you ask him how he is today he says, “Never better!”

He has what Proverbs 3:13-18 talks about: “Happy (blessed fortunate, enviable) is the man who finds skillful and godly wisdom, and the man who gets understanding [drawn it forth from God’s Word and life’s experience.] For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver and the profit of it better than fine gold. Skillful and godly wisdom is more precious than rubies; and nothing you can wish for is to be compare to her. Length of days is in her right hand and in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are highways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold on her; happy, blessed, fortunate, to be envied is everyone who holds her fast.”

No matter what life circumstance is thrown at you, if you have gained skillful and godly wisdom and apply it, you can sleep at night peacefully, you can sing when it is raining, and you can love life, because you know LOVE and He is here and He is treasure, finer than silver or gold!
