Good morning,
I was at Target yesterday and realized while unloading my cart into my car that I had not paid for an extension cord that was under my purse.
First thought was, “Shoot, that was an accident. Just forget it and go.” Second thought was, “It will take five minutes to run back in and just pay for it. I want Target to stay in business and even if no one else ever knows, I will know and God sees my integrity.”
Back I went. The gal who checked me out asked if there was a problem and I told her my story, the manager heard me and sort of laughed and chuckled that the $6.00 didn’t change too much. I replied, “I know, but I want Target to stay in business and I have to live with myself. Doing the right thing is freeing.” He smiled big and said, “Thank you for doing this.”
Earlier yesterday I had listened to a young minister, Ben Courson, founder of Hope Generation. He said a phrase about people asking, “Where is God? I am hurting or scared or lost or messed up or financially breaking or depressed or lonely.” Ben said, “Where is God, is like asking what shape is yellow? He is everywhere!”
God is everywhere… prayer is our cell phone to him. The Bible is His cell phone to us. We have not, because we ask not.
Psalm 117 is the shortest psalm and it is so good:
O PRAISE the Lord all you nations! Praise Him, all you people! For His lovingkindness prevails over us [and we Triumph and overcome through Him], And the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah)
I am in this life with God. I know He is with me always and everywhere. He prompts me to do right… because it is freeing for me, not because He would be mad at me if I do wrong!
Where is God, is like asking what shape is yellow. He is everywhere! Yay!
Love you, Teri
