Good morning,
I was watching a movie the other night and it was about a gal going up in a hot air balloon. She walked up to it and told them she was afraid of heights and could not get in. The guy said, “You can do it, it won’t be that scary. Just get in.” She shook her head and ran off. She ran into another person and he saw the balloon and said, “I just want to go get some pictures of it so walk over with me.” She went with and he said, “I know you are scared of heights, but maybe you could just do it afraid.” She said, “OK, I will do it afraid.” They went up and she realized something, she wasn’t afraid of heights, she was afraid of falling.
The Word of God is filled with wisdom about how to have faith instead of fear. It says 365 times, “Do not be afraid.” Along with that statement comes, “I Am with you. Trust Me. Believe in Me.”
God knows many things can scare us. He also knows that we have to take steps toward dreams, hopes, the future without all the answers.
When we invite God into our life we get to have a friend closer to us than anyone else. The Holy Spirit in us, when we pray, He guides our steps, He makes a way, He gives us strength we didn’t have on our own. When we depend completely on God, He completely helps us. If we wait until we aren’t scared to do something, it may never get done.
Keep Philippians 4:8-7 always on your lips: Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Thank you, God, for always helping me to just do it afraid if I have to. You are awesome!
Love you, Teri
