Focus!

Good morning,

Do you ever stop and say to yourself, “Just focus”? God has given me the ability to shut out everything around me when I am focused on something. It can be TV, a book, conversation, design. It kind of drives people around me crazy if they are trying to talk to me! My son, Jack, when he was little would say, “Mom, you’re getting dizzy.”

I was with my beautiful friend, Lucinda, twice in about a week and she noticed I didn’t hear any of the conversation next to her of angry, nasty fans at a basketball game and at lunch one day with eight friends, because my focus was on us. I didn’t hear a crazy conversation right behind our table while sitting there. She said, “God put mufflers on you to only hear lovely things.” I laughed and kind of agreed.

I listened to a sermon the other day about where our focus is when times are bad.

Our focus is to be on the Word of God. When we start our day with promises from the Bible we can build our spirit up first thing in the morning and then expect to let God help us all day long. Keep focusing on what we are thankful for, what we can control and pay very little attention to the negative talk on the news or complaining people around us.

Focus on and say these scriptures. Receive them today!

(Proverbs 4:20-22) My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; Open your ears to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them. Watch over your heart with all diligence. For from it flow the spring of life.

(Isaiah 54:17) No weapon formed against me shall prosper.

(Philippians 4:6-7) Do not be anxious or worried about anything. but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests know to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding [that peace which] stands guard over your heart and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].

Love you, Teri
