Beau and Bernie

Good morning,

Do you know what today is? A new day! Yep, it is all that we are promised right now. My grandson, Beau, turns five years old tomorrow and yesterday my beautiful mom fell and broke her hip. We all have something wonderful and painful going on most of the time. If Jesus is your Lord and Savior, you have an advantage!

The Jesus advantage is: You are totally dependent on Him, not yourself!

My mom falling and breaking her hip is such a bummer. You hear about older people doing this and until it happens to your parent you don’t really understand. Same with being a grandparent. You see people showing you pictures and talking about their grandkids like crazy people until you have one of your own and you get it!

Here is the thing. God knew we needed help on Earth. Sin is bigger than we are. Pain is bigger than we are. Even love is bigger than we are.

The Jesus advantage is real! Ask Christ to forgive you your sins. Ask Him to help with your day. Ask Him to protect, heal, and save your family and friends from the circumstances of each day. You know what He says in the Bible?

Believe in Me and I will be your advocate–or another way to say it is redeemer to God, forgiving all your sins past and future. I will give you a Helper. Holy Spirit gives us wisdom, understanding, comfort, courage and much more. In return we are filled will the fruit of His spirit: Love, joy, peace, goodness, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22)

In the world people are looking and being sold the false reasoning that self is who we depend on. Don’t buy it! Dependence on the One who knows what happens on the other side of this life is the truth you can count on in happy times like a birthday celebration or hard times like a loved one in the hospital.

Jesus is on the throne! I love that advantage in my life. You have it, too, if you say the simple prayer from the Bible that goes like this:

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead , you will be saved. With the heart one believes, with the mouth one confesses resulting in salvation.

Enjoy today no matter what comes your way! Jesus is on the throne, not you, your leaders, friends, or bosses. Be humbled by that kind of power. It sets you free to find something to be grateful for. Pray, love, and be a servant to the best of the gifts and talents God has given you!

Love you, Teri
