Was Jesus Really Jewish

Good morning,

Do you have friends you love that are not your skin color, religion, age, economic equal, married, single; You name it they are different then you? I feel like the world is finally opening their hearts and minds a little crack to seeing the horrible damage judging and unequal treatment of someone different than you, does! Let’s take Christian or Jewish as one example.

I was watching a teaching this morning and they were asked the question, was Jesus really Jewish, and does it even matter? Yes! The Rabbi, Jonathan Bernis, hosting the talk was discussing Jesus’ Jewish identity and why it matters to both Christians and Jews.

The host told how he was discouraged from reading any of the New Testament because it wasn’t for the Jews and when he finally looked for himself in the first sentence of the first page of the New Testament in Matthew he read familiar names in the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah: David, Abraham, Issac, Jacob! He was so surprised.

He read in Romans 1:16, I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation [from wrath and punishment] to everyone who believes [in Christ as Savior], to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

the whole chapter in Romans 11 tells how the Jews rejected Jesus so that all the gentiles could be grafted in as God’s people and if God would do that how much more would he make a way for his chosen people the Jews to be grafted back to Himself.

God is LOVE and He excludes no one from being in His family. He says I so loved the world that I gave my only Son so that whosoever believes on Him will have eternal life.

Our job as believers is to keep God first and to love our neighbor as our self. We are to tell the good news of Jesus no matter the race, religion or their behavior.

All are welcome in His arms!

Love you, Teri
