Fatty Bruster

Good morning,

I saw a great instagram post that said,

“The goal of the Gospel is not to affirm you, celebrate you, and accept you.

The goal of the Gospel is to rescue you, transform you, and redirect you.”

It is like a story my Dad use to tell us about the time when he was in grade school and a bully named Fatty Bruster, (with a name like that no wonder he was a stinker) anyway, Fatty would pick on the smaller kids and my Dad stood up to him one day and told him to stop bullying this boy and when he didn’t, bam, Dad punched him in the nose and it started to bleed. He told him he didn’t want to do that but you need to change your ways. Dad put his arm around him and walked him to the drinking fountain and helped clean him up. They ended up fast friends after that day.

Thank God, the Gospel of good news knows what we need!

A great book of the Bible is Proverbs. Read one chapter of Proverbs each day for a month. It has 31 chapters, so cool how that works! Each chapter talks about what is good to do and is helpful for a life that is rescued, transforming and redirecting you. No matter how old we are Jesus wants us to live a life filled with well-being. provision, love, friends, hope, forgiveness and a thousand other good things!! Always keep learning.

Love you, Teri
