Shouts of Joy

Good morning,

I was texting with a dear friend of mine and she said, “God is dancing over you my friend” (Zephaniah 3:17) I thought what an awesome thing to say to me and secondly, I don’t think the book of Zephaniah in the Bible is one most people know. I don’t read that book very often!! So I looked up the verse:

The Lord your God is in your midst. A Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy: He will be quiet in His love (making no mention of your past sins). He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.

My Dad was the most joy filled person I have ever met. When you asked him, “how are you today dad?” He always said,”never better”. He smiled always! He loved to sing hymns all the time. Just sitting at my parents house for coffee in the morning he would just start to sing,” Count Your Many Blessings” which was one of his favorites. He just lived his life the way the Lord wants us to live. At peace and full of joy because we have a Savior, Jesus Christ who is doing the same to each one of us who has Believed in Him, Adhered to Him, Trusted in Him and Relies on Him. He is rejoicing over you with shouts of joy! My Dad’s ministry or faith was lived out in joy. I want my ministry to be lived out that way too. I am refusing to give my joy away!

Joy is what we should want more than happiness. Joy is our strength when we know Jesus. Joy is a decision in every circumstance. When you start to say no to anger, rage, short temper, foul language, malice and slander you start to look for the bright side. Jesus wants me well-balanced, loved, at peace, kind hearted, self controlled and filled with Grace. I want a ministry of Joy! My Dad had it right and he loved life, people, and the fragrance of Jesus was always on him.

What is your ministry? Take your thoughts captive and speak out positive words that will not just help you but those around you.

Love you, Teri
