Good morning,
What are we really anxious about? When did that word replace worry? Do you ever think about what you think about? Are you your biggest encourager or are you the hardest person in your life on yourself?
When Jesus was on the cross after being arrested for doing miracles and claiming to be the Son of God. They put a crown of 4″ long thorns on His head, whipped Him with fish bones and sharp objects tied to the whips, took His clothes, spit on Him, anything to humiliate Him then drove nails through his hands and feet. He was also in the middle of the two thieves signifying that He was the worst of the three. While hanging on that cross the one thief could see himself. He could be real with himself and confess that he was all wrong in his life and asked Jesus to forgive him. He believed Jesus was the Son of God and because of his belief Jesus said “this very day you will be with me in paradise.”
The thief is a picture to us that we come as we are. We don’t need to pretend or seek God once we are good enough. We are good enough when we are a hot mess. We are good enough when we are bad. We are good enough when we are damaged. We are good enough when we are anxious about everything and need forgiveness. The hardest person to do this is the one who thinks,” I am a good person.” No one is good enough on their own.
Jesus is a picture of Love! He took the anxiety, punishment, penalty and paid it for you. He saved you if you want to be saved. He gave you and me, ‘the measure of faith’ Romans 12:3.
He gave each person the same faith. ‘The measure of faith!’ We get to use it or not. We get to decide to use a little or use all of it. I can’t image how amazing it would be to use all of our faith and believe like that!
Jesus wants us to live forgiven and to be joy filled, well-balance, at peace, prospering, self-controlled, leaning on Him for everything! He proved that He loves you! We just get to reach out in prayer and receive it all. He even gave us the faith to do it. I don’t know about you, but I much prefer to be forgiven, happy and protected and supplied for anything that comes at me. Believe in Jesus seems like I need to do more. You don’t. The thief was nailed to a board and was not able to DO anything but talk. Jesus paid for all our worst sin we will ever do…We get to be amazed and be thankful and believe in Him.
Love you, Teri
