Good morning,
I watched an intense movie a couple days ago, Thirteen Lives. It is a true story about a group of boys trapped in a cave that is flooding. Ron Howard directed it and even though I knew they all get rescue you are on the edge of your seat with every emotion going on. Two trained divers that specialize in underwater cave rescue can’t believe it when they find all thirteen boys alive and now they have to figure out a way to save them from what will surely cause panic in even the most experienced divers.
The boys are helpless. They cannot save themselves!
Does that sound familiar? I feel like so many people are trying to save themselves by earning what God has given for free out of love. You are saved by grace through faith. Period!
Without Grace and Faith we are like those boys. They were not asked if they did good to others, they obeyed the teacher or their parents. Did they swear. Did they do this or that. No, that was not what anyone was thinking about. They needed help to be saved. They would need to cooperate but the saving was going to be in someone else’s hands.
The divers decided the only way to save them was to medically knock them out completely with a shot and then halfway out they would give them a second shot to keep them under sedation. They would tie their feet and hands and put a oxygen mask on and the diver would do all the work and take them out like a suitcase. They told no one what they were going to do not even the parents. They did this because of fear an doubt that others would have. They were scared enough if it would work and they did not need anything hindering this only solution.
God loves you just as you are. He knows you need a savior and He sent one. Our part is to believe in the Savior and do what He says, Believe in, adhere to, trust in, rely on Me. When you see how much you are loved by God you love Him back! That is what a family does!!! That is why we trust and obey. No earning, no fear…only love. Choose to be saved by the beautiful Son, Jesus! He knows the way to eternity with God and a life that gives you peace, hope and joy.
Love you, Teri
