Oh Crap, She’s Up!

Good morning,

Yesterday my beautiful friend, Jule invited me to Hope awakens women’s luncheon for Adult and Teen Challenge. It is a wonderful Christian treatment organization. Susie Larson is a popular radio talk show host and she was the speaker. Wow, her story is powerful!

At nine years old several of Susie’s older brothers,” friends ” or hoodlums I would say, caught her in the laundry room of their house and sexually assaulted her. Her dad was the mayor at that time and she didn’t tell anyone because she was afraid it would be a scandal and it would be bad for her dad. My heart just broke for a little girl thinking that, instead of, in reality I am sure her Dad would have done everything in his power to get those horrible boys who hurt his little girl.

She did not tell anyone until she was eighteen. Then if that wasn’t bad enough she was walking home one day and she says the “friends” bikes where outside her house so she decided to wait at the baseball field across the street until she saw her mom get home. A group of boys were in the dug out getting high and they saw her and walked over and beat her up. Punching and kicking, pulling her hair out and then they left her as fast as they had assaulted her.

What I was thinking is; this was fifty years ago. You think Mayberry RFD, Andy Griffith show, kinder times, but every generation has evil! You can image what these two traumatic things did to her value and soul! The devil wants to stop voices but God uses our trials if we let him and it becomes our passion. Thankfully, Susie leaned into God. Fear and Love are choices. It has been proved that our brain makes inflammation from fear. It also has been proven love heals branches in our brain. God wired us for Love! His love is transforming.

Susie uses her voice and her painful past and trials big time. She has written Twenty-two books and has a radio talk show for the last fifteen years. When her feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, “Oh crap, she’s up!!!” Let’s be like Susie!

Love you, Teri
