A Plum Tree

Good morning,

I am teaching in Bible study about the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the fruit of the Holy Spirit, etc, it seems like I see all kinds of relevant examples lately. On instagram I saw this young black pastor yesterday and he said the best things;

“A plum tree don’t eat plums. A pear tree don’t eat pears. All they get is water, cause the fruit ain’t for the tree. The fruit is for the people who pass by. Your gift ain’t for you, which is why you can be depressed at home and be on the phone giving other people a word that can flip their life. Have you ever hung up the phone and be like I should have told myself that! It’s because your gift, ain’t for you, wisdom is!

We all have gifts and talents that God has given us. I think this Pastor nailed it!

Give them away often and freely, they aren’t for you…. they are for loved ones, neighbors, strangers, the world! Each one of us have those special gifts that the world needs.
