You Will Grow

Good morning,

I love so much that people are returning to church and wanting to have a closer relationship with God! In 2007 I started a plan to help a local family remodel their home and it was called, The Sharpe Project. My background is in home design. What our community accomplished was an extreme home makeover! Hundreds of people pitched in with time, money and services. In 99 days we completely renovated and furnished the home foundation to roof including the yard and a white picket fence that my friends, daughter’s high school (I believe) swim team assembled!

The first thing when all this started was that I had a dream several nights in a row to get baptized as an adult. Any Christ follower who believes, Jesus is the Son of God and that He rose from the dead and is seated at the right hand of God can baptize. My husband, Steve baptized me. I remember saying, “ok Jesus, what next?” The mother, Jan Sharpe was a devout Christian and through her I was so inspired and learned to pray for everything. Whatever we needed, you take another believer by the hand and ask for it in Jesus powerful name. Wow, wow, prayers were answered sometimes immediately, like people would drive in the yard with exactly what we prayed for. She would smile and say, “that’s our God!” I say that now all the time!

The thing I learned is that going back to church is for gathering with other believers and hearing the Word on Sundays and soaking in the presence of God. It is so good! The rest of the week, add things on your own that draw you closer to God.

Read the Bible. Set a time in a cozy or comfortable place. No set length of time, just you and Jesus.

Get a small spiral notebook, by small I mean it can fit in your purse or brief case or backpack. Write down some verses that inspire you. I will list some but the best way to make it your notebook is to write them by hand in the book, find them in the Bible, on line, where ever and then look at them on a plane, in the morning in your cozy spot, etc…. You will grow your friendship with Jesus by being with him through out the week.

Love you, Teri
