Our Beautiful Friend, Marcia

Good morning,

Have you ever wondered what the best way to tell someone about Jesus is?

The answer is, “Love them.” Live out the selfless, sacrificial love you have received from Jesus. Extend that love to those who have not yet trusted Him as Lord and Savior, and your actions will speak loudly about who Jesus is and what He is all about. -Joyce Meyer

We never regret loving people! As Christ followers our best tool to show Jesus is how we love our family and friends. I lost a great friend this week, Marcia Gilbertson. Marcia, my friend Marla, and myself would get together for what we called HH: Happy Hour because we didn’t meet regularly but when it worked out we were always so happy to spend time together. Marcia had a great personality! She would make us laugh, we would always say a prayer together and we would hug and look forward to our next time. Marcia had a terminal disease with her heart and lungs and we just treasured each visit so much. We did HH for about 10 years. Marcia was always so brave and beautiful. She knows Jesus and I am so sad to lose her on earth. When Marla and I texted with her for the last time we told her we loved her, and she said, “Love you, too. I am surrounded by peace and prayer.” I am so thankful to have the assurance right now she is in perfect peace, home in heaven with Jesus!

John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you; my [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]

Tell people about Jesus…love them! Share His perfect peace!

Love you, Teri

  1. Teri, I’m so sorry about the loss of your sweet friend, Marcia. My sister in-law wrote these words when I lost my dad seven years ago. The words were timeless when written and seem appropriate to help comfort you today. “I am mindful today of your bond with Marcia, thinking of you as you watch that bond change shape and color in the next weeks. It will wind itself around you, squeezing and caressing, giving and taking. Hold on to each other tightly. The loss will mean a journey for you of vast distance, and travel demands a companion. Hold firm to the sides of your rocking boat and watch with your hearts as the sun sets behind those waves. The water will be calm in the morning.”

My heart is with you. I wish for you strength & wisdom.

    Love you, Lynn

    Lynn
