Texarkana

Good morning,

Last week my friend Robin and I went to Broken Bow, Oklahoma. To get there we had to go to Dallas, Texas then fly to Texarkana, Arkansas and then drive an hour and forty five minutes to Broken Bow. I had never heard of Broken Bow or Texarkana. It was quite an experience in so many ways!

First, the reason we went was to furnish a gorgeous cabin her brother, Dean had built and wanted to sell a furnished Airbnb. The thankfulness of her brother was so heartwarming. He told us, texted us and worked with us each day and you could just see his gratitude.

Second, there were two people who we just can’t forget. Our beautiful waitress the first night at dinner was twenty-one years old and trying to figure out what she wanted to do as her career. She had a southern drawl and told us she prayed God would put right in her face, so she couldn’t miss what He wanted her to do. She heard from a friend that a great job is a flight attendant and see the world but, she is a tiny bit afraid of flying! She said, “God give me confirmation right in my face so I can’t miss your answer if this is what I should do. I could see the world and serve people.” That very night she waited on a table and it was a couple and the lady was celebrating her retirement as a thirty year flight attendant! She confirmed it was a wonderful career choice. Our little waitress just beamed and with her drawl and said, “God is so good y’all. Prayer is just the best thing and I am a Christian and not afraid to tell y’all!”

The second person had the only taxi in Texarkana and he was telling us, while Christian music was playing in the van, everyone in Texarkana is a Christian and they have no problem with crime! Can you imagine an entire town praising God, believing in Jesus and loving on people!

I came home with love, gratitude and hope!

Love you, Teri

  1. I look forward to your messages as I lost my best friend and husband 2 years ago and still struggling. I never took him for granted but I’m a way maybe I did. He did everything for me from buying something cute to setting up my dental appt. We told each other many times a day how much we loved
