Appetizers are Small

Good morning,

I have been soaking in the Word of God because it is so comforting and makes me extremely thankful! I read, watch shows and I heard a story about a guy who was trying to get his fathers approval and his dad just never said the things he wanted from him. Finally he was at a restaurant and ordered an appetizer and it was so small and he was still so hungry, then the meal came and it was really what he needed to fill him up because the appetizer wasn’t doing it. He said he had an epiphany! He was wanting his dad to love him and be the answer to all his needs when God is the full answer to his needs. People are good but they are the appetizer, God is the full meal.

Are you trying to have people do what only God can do?

“and my God will liberally supply (fill until full ) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be the glory forever and ever.” Phillipians 4: 19-20

Once the man had this revelation and felt that, no matter what, God was who he could get all his needs met from, the strangest thing happened …his earthly father started saying all the things he had wanted to hear. Once he had let go of wanting everything from his dad instead of God he had peace and joy again. His dad’s approval was welcomed but it was the revelation that God approved and loved Him that changed everything for him. God has the power to really anchor us in things that no mere man can do!

I am anchored to God in good times, bad times, scary times, happy times, and my anchor is deep and holds strong. Everything I need is supplied and I know how to stay in faith. It takes active work of reading and listening to the Word of God. Fear and faith cannot happen at the same time. Faith is a much better place to live with trust in a powerful, loving, BIG, God who loves me forever and ever. This gives me joy, thankfulness and hope!

If you need God just say,” God help” and it is the beginning of all His supply! Jesus saves you, Holy spirit will do the rest. Your part is to believe, read the Word and open your heart!

Love you, Teri
